A kitchen rich in chefs!
Women chefs are a rare breed in Québec, and ours, Marie-Chantal Lepage, is self-taught.
She started her career at a young age in one of Ottawa's great restaurants, and three years later took Serge Bruyère as her mentor. In 1994, she became head chef at Manoir Montmorency. She has been running the kitchens at the Château for the past three years.
Honors and awards in rapid-fire succession:
- In 2000, Marie-Chantal became the first woman to be voted "Québec Chef of the Year" by Société des Chefs, Cuisiniers et Pâtissiers du Québec.
- In 2003, she received the title of "Woman of Success" from Fédération des Caisses Desjardins.
- In 2004, she was named "Career Woman" by Journal Économique.The subtle harmonies of her cuisine reflect her international influences.
