Le Château Bonne Entente - Statement on Respecting Personal Information Online
Le Château Bonne Entente agrees to respect your privacy and your identifiable personal information. Le Château Bonne Entente's mission is to make every possible effort to respect our guests' expectations concerning the products and services we provide to business or pleasure travelers. We try to give our customers an experience that meets their expectations through the responsible use of the information they entrust us with. Le Château Bonne Entente agrees to respect your privacy and adhere to principles applying to data protection and to laws covering personal information in effect worldwide.
We have formulated this Personal Information Policy in order to explain why we collect this information, how we use it and how its use can help us improve our websites. We want you to be able to make informed decisions. Therefore, we encourage you to read the following sections to better understand how this information will be used.
Kind of Information Collected
Le Château Bonne Entente collects information on its guests and on visitors to our websites in order to provide services that meet their needs. Information may be requested: (i) when booking a reservation or requesting a reservation, (ii) when purchasing one of our products, (iii) when joining our Plume d'Or program, (iv) when applying for a job, or (v) when responding to one of our communications (e.g., surveys, promotions or reservation confirmation). We try to collect this information only with your knowledge and, if need be, with your consent. The identifiable personal information collected could concern your name, your personal, professional and electronic addresses, your phone and fax numbers, your credit card information, your date of birth, your gender and information on your habits, such as the kind of room you prefer, your recreational activities, the names and ages of your children, and other information needed to meet special requests (e.g. a health condition that could require specific room arrangements).
Le Château Bonne Entente could collect information that is not aimed at identifying you, such as how you use our websites, your communication preferences, your travel habits, data on your stays and responses to our promotions and surveys.
Collection and Use
Le Château Bonne Entente wants you to know how we collect and use the identifiable personal information that is provided by our customers or that we ask for when they use our websites, products and services. We refuse on principle to ask you for information that is not indispensable or that is useless. Here are some of the reasons why we collect identifiable personal information or IPI:
- To provide services such as transaction processing (e.g. booking a reservation, filling out a request for information or ordering a product).
- Advertising and communications about products and services offered by Le Château Bonne Entente, our strategic marketing partners or other trustworthy third parties.
- Market study surveys to improve our service, our websites, your stay in our hotels, various means of communication, advertising campaigns or promotions.
You always have the option not to divulge personal information or to choose how you want us to communicate with you. However, this could affect the smooth functioning of some transactions. For example, we cannot book a reservation unless you give us your name.
Data Use and Divulgation
In most cases, the data that you give us are added to a database. During data processing, your IPI could be transferred to a third party service provider. At Le Château Bonne Entente, our general policy is to not sell, lease or transmit your PII to unaffiliated third parties. The circumstances under which Le Château Bonne Entente would be called upon to divulge data are as follows:
- We have obtained your consent
- The exchange or divulgation of your information is necessary to offer the best products or services that you request (e.g. a vacation package)
- The companies or service providers working with Le Château Bonne Entente require such information (e.g. credit card processing, customer service or database management service)
- Should Le Château Bonne Entente merge with, or be acquired by, another company
- In order to respect the legal or regulatory obligations required by a court of law
- In the event of an emergency, to protect the life, health or property of others
In the event that the information must be shared as noted above, we will try to limit the amount of information transmitted, depending on the situation. Unless legal action obliges us to do otherwise, we require third parties to protect your IPI in compliance with this statement of principles, as well as with the laws and regulations concerning personal information in effect.
Consent
We could need to contact you by the post, by e-mail, telephone or any other means to inform you of new products and services at Le Château Bonne Entente, of upcoming special offers from Le Château Bonne Entente, of events, improvements or any other information likely to interest you. You could also receive mail from carefully selected third parties. You will always have the option to refuse one or all of the above-mentioned communications by following the instructions in our electronic or other communications or by contacting Le Château Bonne Entente directly.
Access to Identifiable Personal Information
To ensure us that your identifiable personal information (IPI) is accurate and up to date, we encourage you to regularly check and update it, for example, should you change your home address or e-mail address or should you wish to add another means of communication. You can contact us to check and update your IPI. Please note that to prevent the unauthorized divulgation of your IPI, you could be asked to provide an ID card (or other means of identification).
